A few random things for the day. First, where did http://www.downtownyoungstown.com/ disappear to?Second, on this date 25 years ago, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development granted $2.8 million for refurbishing the Kimmel Brook Homes in Youngstown and Sheriff James A. Traficant Jr. met with famed Boston defense lawyer F. Lee Bailey to discuss the possibility of Bailey representing Traficant in his bribery trial.
The city has come a long way in 25 years. Kimmel Brook has been demolished with the new Rockford Village built in its place. Traficant is in jail and Bailey was disbarred in 2001. Of course, we all know Jimbo went on to defend himself without counsel and actually beat that particular rap (not so in 2002). This all comes from the Vindicator's "On this Day" column. I moved here at 11 years old and was very happy after leaving a major Metropolitan area. Mill creek park, Idora, good people! Now after leaving during Viet Nam to a life 12yrs overseas and seeing real world situations, I am appalled at the disgrace this City has aspired too! I am currently living in a $132,000 home I though would be a refreshing place to retire! Liberty, Ohio, is without the most serene place I have been in years..., untill the Girard and Vienna Water Dept's decided to force me out by charging me $400.00 every month for water! I am the son of a Native American/Irish Father who was also run out of OHio and his Property Stolen by the same Bigotry! I have no water now and live in a very hostile environment due to Mayor Medfly and his Hinchman water Czar Jerri Lambvert! I am Retired US Army and been blown up, shot down, and tortured and not the least bit afraid of City Hole in Girard! I have sued, beento the Media, and the Governor to no avial! What they the corrupt system can't understand is that this is my last Harrah???!!! This is it, I am not running anymore! The Powers that be have meet the real Steven Seagal!
